China's wind power expected to grow 64% in 2009

China's installed wind power capacity is expected to reach 20 million kilowatts in 2009, increasing 64% from 2008, according to the organizers of the 3rd China (Shanghai) International Wind Energy Exhibition and Symposium 2009
China's installed wind power capacity is expected to reach 20 million kilowatts in 2009, increasing 64% from 2008, according to the organizers of the 3rd China (Shanghai) International Wind Energy Exhibition and Symposium 2009, which opened at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) yesterday.

More than 200 enterprises came to join the exhibition, bringing products covering the whole wind power industry chain.

The statistics show that installed wind power capacity increased 105% last year. Wind power has become China's third largest electricity source, following thermal and hydro power.
